Melanie Sloan on FBI's claim about e-mails: "I would call that a lie, in fact"
Melanie Sloan was just on CNN discussing the FBI's failure to investigate the Foley e-mails The FBI continues to claim that their initial review of the e-mails "was hampered because the group that provided it the email on July 21st of this year wouldn't name the page and edited the messages."
That group would be CREW. "I would call that a lie, in fact" was Melanie's response to the FBI claim. In fact, the e-mails weren't redacted. The page's name and the staffer's name were on the e-mails. But, now they say they didn't have enough information. The FBI claimed they had three separate squads review the case. They are the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Interestingly, CNN interviewed two local law enforcement entities who described what they would have done upon receipt of the e-mails.
We'll get the transcript and hopefully the video later today.
Congress
If you have ever read the book Battlefield Earth, by L. Ron Hubbard (Yes, I know the movie stunk royally), then you will recall the main alien character named Terl. Terl ran his entire life based on leverage. His every day was spent using the leverage he had on people, and trying to acquire leverage on people he wanted to control, or needed something from. This is how I think our Congress works. These men didn't WANT the Foley crimes exposed because with that exposure went a golden opportunity for leverage. Thus the numerous large contributions from Foley to other congressmen. They had leverage on Foley, and they were using it, and planned to keep right on using it until the sordid details became exposed. These men have no thoughts beyond their own power. Gaining power, maintaining power. Our 21st century Royalty.

That comment certainly has a ring of truth to it.
Leverage
I'm not sure it needed to be compared to a sci-fi novel by L. Ron Hubbard to be understood but I do agree that our current government system has scandals that are kept under wraps to protect a political party and then those involved are kept under leverage by the party in order to recieve moneys and votes in line. The voting is probably the easiest payment to make since it's clear that many of these politicians view their votes as currency and are even willing to vote against their own self interest (gays politicians voting anti-glbt agendas until their outed for example)...anyone remember the White House gay escort scandal or '89?

Larry King
The child prostitute ring of Larry King? I remember, and I also remember it was tied to very high ups in Washington, including George Bush Sr. Discovery channel had a program on it that they were forced to cancel and destroy the films.
At least one survived though, I just watched it.
name of Discover Channel film?
What is the name of the Discovery Channel program? That child sex-ring never got the coverage it deserved. One ringleader was Craig J. Spence, a Republican lobbyist who was a Jack Abramoff of his day (to Reagan/Bush Admins). Spence got access to the White House through Donald Gregg -- top aide to Bush Sr.

I think, with the passage and signing of HR 6166, that there is no doubt any longer that we are living under a dictatorship.
The Attorney General, the FBI, the White House, the Republican-led White House with a fair share of supposed opposition party members, have signed away the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
It's doubtful at this time that even the Supreme Court can stop the juggernaut.
It's going to be up to us.
