Congressman Doolittle dogged by his connection to Jack Abramoff

Congressman John Doolittle (R-CA) is getting the kind of national attention most politicians crave. Unfortunately, for Doolittle, who was named as one of the 20 most corrupt members of Congress in CREW's "Beyond DeLay," it's not the kind of attention he wants. It's Abramoff-related, and that can't be good:

But Doolittle, who has consistently topped 60 percent of the vote in his recent campaigns, finds himself embroiled in what appears his toughest campaign in years — because of the tough national political environment for Republicans, to be sure, but mainly because of his past association with now-convicted lobbyist Jack Abramoff, which continues to get considerable airing in the northeastern California district.

Considerable airing. They just can't shake that Abramoff.

Cannon and Abramoff gets NO attention!

1. In 2002, Paul Drockton documented that almost a dozen farmers insurance agents and associates were or had been harrassed and/or discriminated because of their Mormon religion.

2. Farmers did a massive cover-up/retaliation/defamation campaign against Drockton which included bribing some of the complainants and intimidating others.

3. Drockton went to his Congressman, Chris Cannon (R) Utah, and presented him with all of the documents and facts in the case. He also went to the media.

4. Cannon used the facts presented to him to solicit huge campaign contributions from Farmers/Zurich insurance and its parent company British American Tobacco.

5. In 2003, someone paid almost 1.7 million dollars of Cannon's campaign debt. Cannon refuses to show documents of who gave him this money.

6. Joseph Cannon, Chris's brother, is the head of the Utah Republican Party and sits on the Board of Directors of Deseret News, the LDS Church owned newspaper.

7. Jill Beard, who is a now a convicted felon (thanks to Drockton), took $100,000+ in bribes to destroy the Drockton's finances, marketing company, and business reputation.

8. Curt Windhorst, also bribed, changed his name, fled the state and is now in Federal Custody.

9. All the documents and facts have been given to the Deseret News.

Cannon also took thousands more from convicted felon Abramoff and his PACs than reported by the Deseret News. they know about it, still won't report it.

Please contact: Tell them you expect the LDS Church owned newspaper to report this story as it is well-documented and they know all the facts. We are the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints...not the Church of Joe and Chris Cannon.
