BREAKING: White House lost Over FIVE MILLION e-mails in two year period
Today, CREW issued a new report, WITHOUT A TRACE: The Missing White House Emails and Violations of the PRA, and made the shocking new disclosure that the Bush White House has lost over FIVE MILLION e-mails in a two year period. The report also details the legal issues behind the growing controversy over the White House e-mail scandal.
Through two confidential sources, CREW learned that the Executive Office of the President (EOP) has lost over FIVE MILLION emails generated between March 2003 and October 2005. The White House counsel’s office was advised of these problems in 2005 and CREW has been told that the White House was given a plan of action to recover these emails, but to date nothing has been done to rectify this significant loss of records.
Our Executive Director, Melanie Sloan, issued the following statement after learning of the revelation:
It’s clear that the White House has been willfully violating the law, the only question now is to what extent? The ever changing excuses offered by the administration – that they didn’t want to violate the Hatch Act, that staff wasn’t clear on the law – are patently ridiculous. Very convenient that embarrassing – and potentially incriminating – emails have gone missing. It’s the Nixon White House all over again.

The most amazing occurrence now, that I don't know if CREW is looking into, is the dropping gas prices. The missing e-mails from 2003 must have something to do with the Cheney secret meeting with "big oil" executives. I would even go as far as to say that there was an agreement created from 2003 til October 2008 that outlines price hikes and give a kick back to Bush/Cheney when they leave office. It is definitely not a coincidence that Bush/Cheney are leaving office and gas prices are plummeting. CREW must make public the Cheney secret oil meeting e-mails, documents and any other documentation available to the public so the people who elected these two can see how corrupt they really were. I personally would also like to see any and all communication regarding the Iraq war and the "weapons of mass destruction" angle they had Colin Powell float in front of the United Nations. Lastly, when and if any e-mails are found and they reveal many deceptions of the American public I hope that Bush and Cheney are put in jail or executed for treason!

The only reason anybody believes that any email that important was actually lost is because they don't know how the people responsible administer email servers.
Interview the people who administer email servers at Fortune 500 companies and you'll get a general idea of how people responsible for important data make sure it does not get lost.
Do you really believe that the people who administer the White House email servers are less careful than the people working at a Fortune 500 company?

I think the thing that amazes me most is the fact that we have oil men in the white house creating exponential price hikes, unparalleled oil company profits, uncontested "no bid" contracts to the very principals of war profiteering companies and little or no objections or seeming concern from our media.
