16 Apr 2007 // Today Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed an appeal from the response of the Office of Administration (OA) of the Executive Office of the President (EOP) to CREW's March 29, 2007, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request.
CREW's March 29, 2007, FOIA request sought all record-keeping policies and guidance dating from January 1, 2001, to the present for presidential and federal records of all EOP components, including the president and vice president.
In response, the OA produced a mere 37 pages of responsive records and the only document relating to record-keeping guidance of the Bush administration that OA produced was a 10-page draft manual dated July 2005. CREW appealed on the ground that OA clearly did not conduct an adequate search, particularly given OA's self-described mission to provide administration services to all of the EOP.
