OSC's Bloch says White House investigations are underway
The LA Times reports that Scott Bloch has started his investigation in to multiple White House scandals, including the firing of U.S. Attorneys, the missing e-mails and potential violations of the Hatch Act. We'll be keeping an eye on this investigation. As we noted earlier this week, we're skeptical. But, Bloch claims that his organization has begun:
Special Counsel Scott J. Bloch met with White House Counsel Fred F. Fielding on Thursday as he pushed ahead with an ambitious inquiry into White House political operations.
"I came away believing that the White House intends to cooperate and was glad to open channels of communication," said Bloch, head of the Office of Special Counsel.
Bloch said he and Fielding set up procedures that his agency would use to investigate the firing of at least one U.S. attorney, missing White House e-mails and the distribution of political information to Cabinet agencies.
Bloch's office, with 106 employees, enforces laws to protect federal whistle-blowers and prevent discrimination.

Mr. Bloch, there is a parcel of White House artists going around painting landscape pictures about politics and elections and candidates and the like, and these pictures are painted in meetings with political appointees who control government resources, such meetings held on government premises and on government time.
Also, one Ms. Doan, a participant in one such meeting now says that she "doan remember" anything about pictures. Please see if you can help jog her memory, or quarantine her so that this disease does not spread to others. And please see if you can get your hands on those paintings.
Because, you see, we want to look at those pictures, too.
White House documents
are not given out, according to WH spokeswomen Dana Perino, in answer yesterday to a question of whether the WH would be releasing the Power Point Presentation of the landscaper meetings.
It needs to be clarified, when the oportunity arises, if the WH will provide this to the Office of the Special Counsel.
