Twenty years ago, televangelist Oral Roberts said he was reading a spy novel when God appeared to him and told him to raise $8 million for Roberts' university, or else he would be "called home."

Now, his son, Oral Roberts University President Richard Roberts, says God is speaking again, telling him to deny lurid allegations in a lawsuit that threatens to engulf this 44-year-old Bible Belt college in scandal.

Richard Roberts is accused of illegal involvement in a local political campaign and lavish spending at donors' expense, including numerous home remodeling projects, use of the university jet for his daughter's senior trip to the Bahamas, and a red Mercedes convertible and a Lexus SUV for his wife, Lindsay.

She is accused of dropping tens of thousands of dollars on clothes, awarding nonacademic scholarships to friends of her children and sending scores of text messages on university-issued cell phones to people described in the lawsuit as "underage males."...

The allegations are contained in a lawsuit filed Tuesday by three former professors. They sued ORU and Roberts, alleging they were wrongfully dismissed after reporting the school's involvement in a local political race...

The professors also said their dismissals came after they turned over to the board of regents a copy of a report documenting moral and ethical lapses on the part of Roberts and his family. The internal document was prepared by Stephanie Cantese, Richard Roberts' sister-in-law, according to the lawsuit.

An ORU student repairing Cantese's laptop discovered the document and later provided a copy to one of the professors.

It details dozens of alleged instances of misconduct. Among them:

• A longtime maintenance employee was fired so that an underage male friend of Mrs. Roberts could have his position.

• Mrs. Roberts — who is a member of the board of regents and is referred to as ORU's "first lady" on the university's Web site — frequently had cell-phone bills of more than $800 per month, with hundreds of text messages sent between 1 a.m. to 3 a.m. to "underage males who had been provided phones at university expense."

• The university jet was used to take one daughter and several friends on a senior trip to Orlando, Fla., and the Bahamas. The $29,411 trip was billed to the ministry as an "evangelistic function of the president."

• Mrs. Roberts spent more than $39,000 at one Chico's clothing store alone in less than a year, and had other accounts in Texas and California. She also repeatedly said, "As long as I wear it once on TV, we can charge it off." The document cites inconsistencies in clothing purchases and actual usage on TV.

• Mrs. Roberts was given a white Lexus SUV and a red Mercedes convertible by ministry donors.

• University and ministry employees are regularly summoned to the Roberts' home to do the daughters' homework.

• The university and ministry maintain a stable of horses for exclusive use by the Roberts' children.

• The Roberts' home has been remodeled 11 times in the past 14 years.

DETROIT (AP) -- A federal prosecutor from Florida accused of flying to Detroit last month to molest a 5-year-old girl committed suicide in his cell Friday in federal prison, authorities said.

Assistant U.S. Attorney John D.R. Atchison was found unresponsive, taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, said Felicia Ponce, spokeswoman for the Federal Bureau of Prisons in Washington. A previous suicide attempt was foiled in September, according to authorities.

Atchison was being held in a special housing unit in the prison in Milan, about 36 miles southwest of Detroit.

The administrative detention area houses all levels of prisoners, and Atchison had a cell to himself, Ponce said.

She declined to say how Atchison killed himself or whether he was on suicide watch, saying the death was being investigated.

Atchison, 53, was arrested last month at Detroit Metropolitan Airport after weeks of Internet conversations between the prosecutor and a detective posing as the mother of a 5-year-old girl, authorities have said.

Dubai: Asset diversification by the Gulf sovereign wealth funds and the possibility that the Organisation of Petroleum Exporting Countries (Opec) will change the pricing of oil from the dollar to another currency could mean more trouble for the dollar.

The dollar has been losing its charm as a reserve currency due to its persistent weakness against a host of other international currencies.

The September non-farm payrolls report on Friday showed 110,000 jobs were created in the US last month. Although the dollar reacted positively to the news and gained initially, the rally quickly fizzled.

Amid the dollar's free fall following the half per cent interest rate cut in September, Qatar last week said its $50 billion sovereign wealth fund has cut its exposure to the dollar by more than half to about 40 per cent of its portfolio.

"While the opportunities are growing, the risk levels of Asian assets have come down substantially in recent years," Ronnie Chan, chairman of Hang-Lung Properties Hong Kong, told Gulf News recently.

Analysts see the admission by Qatar as a signal that regional state-owned funds are moving away from the dollar.

Right now Geragos is trying to have mention of his client hiring prostitutes while a married man, removed from trial proceedings because Geragos is afraid of the mention of hookers muddying his client's reputation. Wilkes was behind 10 mm and 3.5 mm cameras put into my Long Island home, including 2 in my bedroom and 2 in my guest room! He did all he could to steal control of my employer (I'm founding management) AND the man is a total pervert and degenerate! He got the money to have those cameras put into my home from Republican earmarks! The cameras continued to be put into my home, replacing ones already removed long past Cunningham's plea deal and it was known Wilkes was facing indictment! Repubican members of Congress kept funding the earmarks and some of these replacement cameras are only out of my home a couple of weeks. In other words, I have been blogging in CREW's space about this in the past thinking all cameras finally were out, and they weren't! Who am I? The answer is not just head of the company's government operations, but also the person who financially enabled the company to keep its platform from Kremlin control!

If just 1 % of what Wilkes did to my employer, its CEO and I is made public in the current trial, 5 3/4 years of PERVERSE wrongdoing made public by these congressional earmarks will be spewing from my mouth! The Cunningham probe half involves corrupt Democrats. I cannot and never will have respect for either party because both soldout the nation's defense and both parties are behind 5 3/4 years of sabotage because my company exercised ethics while both parties with the RNC being far more in the wrong right now, give clear suggestion 911 was an inside Congress job! They keep forcing contracts to be awarded of crappy technology to be awarded to companies majority-owned by the Kremlin's crime gang! Some dividend income is then skimmed off the top to be recycled into more homegrown terror training and financing so that taxpayers in western democracies keep paying for contracts to be awarded to companies such as Lockheed, Raytheon, Computer Associations, Digimarc, etc. that are majority owned by the Kremlin's crime gang.

If just 1 % of what Wilkes did to my employer comes-out, I will not be keeping my mouth shut to protect a bunch of members in Congress I feel nothing but disgust for! I have found it totally laughable that this is the brood that would provide contracting oversight as our platform would be adopted? This brood has legislation that was passed last year and legislation authored by Democrats such as Tom Allen and Senator Akaka soon to be voted on that make it a federal offense for my employer's platform to be considered, AND this was done to favor the Kremlin! Both Allen and Akaka are Kremlin Mafia operatives! The bills are accessible by the public and I will be able to prove everything I state!

It now has become incredulous that Boehner would commit such political suicide with the first of Wilkes' trials underway. 15 years ago the former owners of my house got a CO on brand new electrical throughout the house. 5 years ago NSA upon CIA's request began cutting into my interior wires to accommodate the illicit cameras. I have had a fire, my insurance claim sabotaged, my homeowners insurance since cancelled using the claim that wasn't paid-out on as an excuse, a gas stove that is broken-turned-on like security cameras always are turned-on so have to leave the stove's circuit breaker turned-off, no dishwasher and no furnace. Both of the latter blew-out from all the power surges NSA's contractor caused to recur in my home many times a day for years. I can't have the appliances and furnace repaired until my 15 year old wiring is fully replaced!

In summary, there's a story that comes with all those illicit earmarks for which they kept being added to appropriations bills long after Cunningham was gone, and the immense hardship to be shared publicly in the court of public opinion will be Boehner and Lewis' political funeral, along with Doolittle, Akaka, Inouye, Dole, Hunter, DeLay, Hayworth, Charles Taylor, Weldon, etc.'s, too! The CEO fled the US...we had a German operation and a secret CIA contract awarded to Wilkes stalked the CEO and took it down. He fled to France and again was stalked. It took 2 secret CIA contracts to take that operation down! Wilkes was awarded only the first one! When the French operation failed, later that same day we were removed from our # 1 position as the drivers' license supplier. Unfortunately for this corrupt brood, not only are they going to jail for the rest of their lives and deserving of the death penalty for their treason, but they're also not getting their explicit wish for the Kremlin to control our platform! The French operation produced shoddy and incomplete work. What was stolen from that office was unusable. We had a shadow operation and now have 2 secret operations. For oversight we will be open with watchdog groups because we absolutely cannot work with a Congress overrun by traitors who we long ago labeled bottom dwellers and the US' greatest pieces of trash to have walked the earth! Boehner's actions are of no surprise to me because the man long ago proved to be a total scumbag! There's nothing he won't do for the Kremlin's money and he and the rest of the RNC are proving to be the world's cheapest of whores!

I suggest as more info comes from US DOJ that Americans consider handling justice the way our forefathers did with traitors...starting with a good old fashioned tar and feathering then dragging behind a horse and buggy!

QUINCY - Ciara Durkin was home on leave last month and expressed a concern to her family in Quincy: If something happens to me in Afghanistan, don’t let it go without an investigation.

Durkin, 30, a specialist with a Massachusetts National Guard finance battalion, was found dead last week near a church at the Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan. She had been shot once in the head, the Army says.

Fiona Canavan, Durkin’s older sister, said today that when her sister was home three weeks ago, she told family members that she had come across some things that concerned her and had raised objections to others at the base.

‘‘She was in the finance unit and she said, ‘I discovered some things I don’t like and I made some enemies because of it.’ Then she said, in her light-hearted way, ‘If anything happens to me, you guys make sure it gets investigated,’’’ Canavan said. ‘‘But at the time we thought it was said more as a joke.’’

The family did not know what she was referring to, said Canavan, who lives in Quincy.

Canavan said that her sister was openly gay, but that the family had no specific reasons to think that had anything to do with her death.

‘‘She was gay, but because she really wanted to go into the Army, she had to make a choice and she chose to put that part of her lifestyle behind her,’’ Canavan said.

The family is determined to have the military investigate ‘‘every aspect’’ of her sister’s life at the base and determine the truth of what happened, Canavan said. ‘‘If she was killed because she was a smoker or had red hair - not to be flip, but we want nothing held back.’’

Canavan vehemently denied a published report attributing to her a statement that the family was concerned that Durkin’s lesbianism was the reason for her death.

When her sister told the family three weeks ago about her concerns over her safety at the base, due to whatever information she had found out, Canavan said, ‘‘we reported it to the Army.’’
