Republican National Committee spending large to find Rove's missing e-mails
The Bush administration's missing e-mail woes are now costing the Republican Party. Mary Ann Akers at the Washington Post reports on the vast sums being spent by the RNC to find Rove's e-mails (and a hat tip to Think Progress):
Nothing comes cheap in Washington, including Karl Rove's missing e-mails. Just ask the Republican National Committee, which seems to be spending a pretty penny looking for them.
Earlier this year, it was discovered that Rove and other White House aides had been using private e-mail accounts at the RNC to send messages about controversial government matters, such as the firings of U.S. attorneys. When investigators came calling, the RNC couldn't find the e-mails but promised to look.
Now, The Sleuth has learned, the hunt for those missing gigabytes has cost the RNC more than $250,000.
According to an RNC filing with the Federal Election Commission, the committee paid $231,615 in October to Stroz Friedberg, a forensics firm chock full of former FBI agents hired to retrieve the lost electronic data. The report shows the committee also paid $41,217 in October to Covington & Burling, the law firm representing the RNC on the missing e-mail controversy.
insanity, greed & the GOP/media
nice to read other people besides Naomi Wolfe & I don't buy the lies. Bush's inability to correctly read/pronounce the names of Israeli/Palestinian leaders to kick off the "peace talks" were edited from most corporate news reports...imagine that!
this fraud is so out of control...secret police/domestic espionage is the last resort of desperate vile characters whose control of the "message" media continues to float the absolutely absurd & historically discredited "definition" of torture circle jerkers.
just think...the media has blithly hopped from going along with damning Bill Clinton for "parsing words" about normal, legal sexual relations between adults.....to a state of utter moral amnesia concerning the torture/murder/violation of the Geneva Conventions.
puke!
Maybe, George Bush will be named president of CNN, NBC, CBS, or ABC when his VAST talents become available to the private sector.
hello email spy rats!

Finally a possible light at the end of the tunnel!
Am a member of Infragard and through this membership learned that the FBI's computer forensic abilities are incredible! (Infragard rule is I can't share details to define "incredible.") It appears RNC might be serious about retrieving the emails in that RNC in essence hired former FBI agents to do the work. I had thought RNC would try to stonewall/obstruct justice. The development to hire Stroz Friedberg actually is somewhat comforting! This company has a reputation for being non-partisan.
Karl Rove was more evil than anyone realizes except perhaps the president who insists Rove has to write a confessional while kicking-up his feet contemplating how he wants to spend the rest of his life (A summary of what Rove said in an interview the day his resignation was announced.), and me whose company is a 6 year victim of Rove's crimes. No party can expect to protect people like Rove, Mehlman, DeLay, Doolittle, Lewis, Hayworth, Hastert, Tancredo, Weldon, Taylor, etc. and expect to regain the public's trust! It is the giving-up its criminals to prosecution that will restore the public's trust in RNC!
