Senator Specter forces delay in contempt vote against Josh Bolten and Karl Rove
A delay in the much anticipated vote in the Senate Judiciary Committee to find White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and former Bush political guru Karl Rove in contempt. The Hill reports:
Specter, the panel’s ranking member, indicated he had asked Leahy to put off the vote on behalf of himself and other committee Republicans. “There is considerable concern on my side about the structure of the citation,” Specter said Thursday. “It would be my hope that we could negotiate some intervening language.”
Republicans, he said, believed the resolution’s language goes too far in its assertions about what was uncovered by the Democratic-led investigation into whether politics played a role in the Justice Department firings of several U.S. attorneys late last year.

Specter should worry about himself. Got his own dirty laundry!
Did Specter or his predecessor in the Chairman's seat extend the same mercy for Democrat appointees during the Clinton Administration when they were in the minority and Leahy/actually his predecessor was ranking chair? I don't think so!
Senator Leahy will still be a gentleman when he closes on this one by not delaying the vote to find Bolten and Rove in contempt. Senator Leahy also will have done one other thing: his job!
It just so happens that the finding Bolten and Rove in contempt also is Specter and every other Republican Judiciary Committee member's job! It is not the job of the Republican members of the committee to stonewall! Stonewalling=cover-up!
Maybe someday Specter will come to realize that the "cover-up is always worse than the original crime!" Also, cover-ups usually involve additional people who for covering-up, become accessories and ultimately land in jail.
Perhaps Specter and the other Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee would like to trade-in their biz suits for orange jumpsuits?

Senator Specter should worry about saving his own sorry a*s! The corruption probes have involved a large percentage of the US Congress and Bush Administration and it is every man and woman for himself! Rove created his own problems where the most severe is his many years of having no-bid contracts awarded in violation of the Hatch Act; Senator Specter has his own dirty laundry to worry about! Senator Specter hardly needs to compound the number of years he is going to jail by adding conspiracy and obstruction of justice charges to the number of charges pending against him because he set-out to protect dirty Bolten and Rove on a separate front!
