30 Jan 2008 // Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) sent Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests to seven agencies seeking copies of emails relating to specific agency policies and programs. CREW seeks to determine whether agency non-compliance with federal record-keeping laws and regulations, especially as to email, is a government-wide problem.
The seven agencies are the Department of Labor, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Education, the Department of the Interior, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Commerce, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
