CREW: "Behind the scenes Governor Palin is using every possible tactic to stymie the inquiry into her own corrupt conduct."
In light of today's pronouncement by vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin that she will not cooperate with a "tainted" investigation into her firing of Alaska Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan, former prosecutor and executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), Melanie Sloan, released the following statement:
Vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, claims the mantle of a reformer while subverting an investigation into her own conduct authorized unanimously by a bipartisan committee of Alaska state legislators. While bragging about her efforts to clean up Alaska politics and end corruption, behind the scenes Governor Palin is using every possible tactic to stymie the inquiry into her own corrupt conduct, including demonizing and refusing to meet with investigators. If, as she asserts, she has done nothing wrong, Governor Palin should have nothing to fear from respected former Assistant District Attorney Steven Branchflower’s probe and she, her husband and those subpoenaed should welcome the chance to explain why she fired Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan.
You may remember that earlier this month, CREW released both a timeline of the investigation, as well as a detailed breakdown of Gov. Palin’s supposed public cooperation versus her efforts to undermine the investigation.
McCain should have chosen his Chief of Staff to be VP
McCain should have chosen his Senate Chief of Staff to be VP. After all, don't most of his views originate from his Chief of Staff?
Finding entire affair humorous!
While it appears Palin is guilty as charged and no one should be entering office to abuse its power to carryout a personal vendetta, I am finding this entire affair somewhat hilarious. The alleged vendetta stems from a divorce...a domestic dispute.
I find humor that a soccer mom with five kids eventually came to govern a state and then seems to have abused the governor's office that was to handle macrocosmic issues, in an attempt to resolve a personal and domestic affair involving concerns that should have been left at home and in the past.
I support McCain but am uncomfortable that someone so caddy is a heart beat away from the presidency. I don't feel Palin is much of a role model for the nation's young women either. In the figurative sense, Palin had her claws out, which is not an image mature women can identify with.
I head federal operations for a company supplying a new credentialing technology awaiting justice when Senator Stevens and Dusty Foggo are tried. My sister is going through a nasty divorce and her hopefully soon-to-be ex is a terrible drunk. I would never take revenge on my sister's ex when my company's credential finally is adopted by Uncle Sam, and am having troubles understanding what the heck Palin was thinking!
Maybe it was post-partem depression or a raging of her hormones immediately after giving birth?
Shame on America
If Americans can vote for Palin just because she is new, a breath of fresh air, then they will deserve what they get. She is a LIAR, and has a holier than thou attitude when she has so many stinking skeletons in her closet.
Shame on your Sarah Palin, 7,000 people Governor of Alaska for thinking that USA is a village!!!
If Americans can vote for
If Americans can vote for Obama just because he gives good speeches, we know nothing about him, he has done nothing for this Country, and then they deserve what they get. He is also hiding things, Farrakhan called him the Messiah, Obama believes he is, he has ties to Ayers, ACORN and other skeletons in his closet. So, should we be much more worried about someone running for president and we know nothing about him or, should vote on John McCain a proven hero, that has fought for his country. I say. VOTE MCCAIN/PALIN!!!!
Sham on CREW
First of all Alaska has nearly 700,000 residents as is equal to 1/3 the Contigious states.
Second, the investigation needs investigation. French the lead for the legislature is friends w/Monegan, Branchflower the lead supposed unbiased investigator is also friends w/Monegan as is his wife who was an investigator for APD when Monegan was chief of APD, Branchwater and French were ADA's while Monegan was w/the APD, they failed to mention that to the Alaska legislature when applying to have Branchwater lead the investigation, clearly something stinks in Denmark.
Why doesn't crew investigate this obvious corruption? Also French and Palin were fighting over bills just last summer, French's dislike of Palin was obvious a year ago, now he is unbiased?

Obama using 650 mil and other smear tactics to hide, everything
Behind the scenes Obama is using, 650 mil, to run over, investigate, lie, and mislead the American people, using all possible tactics to stymie people of America, from finding any thing about his birth certificate, ties to Ayers, ACORN. Rev Wright?? He is corrupt as well, has spiritual advisors that say, Not God Bless America but God, d..., America. So who is hiding something??? If he has nothing to hide, then why are their two investigations about his birth certificate. If he has nothing to hide then why does he keep skirting all questions about his past. The real issues are??? Why is no one on the CREW, looking into his finances, ext. Obama is stalling until after Nov. 4th, if he wins, he will not be held accountable for any of it. But lets just ruin Sarah Palin because she has more class, integrity, morals, values human life, then any one that has this smear campaign going
