23 Oct 2009 // U.S. Sen. Christopher J. Dodd is saying it's time to move on from the long-running Countrywide Financial VIP loan scandal. The issue broke more than one year ago with an article mentioning Dodd, Countrywide kingpin Angelo Mozilo, Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota, and others.
The Senate Ethics Committee cleared Dodd, but a House committee is considering studying the issue and issuing subpoenas.
"I feel the matter's behind us," Dodd said. "We ought to move on."
