CREW Urges Oversight Committee to Support Legislation Seeking More Transparency
On April 18, 2011, CREW and a number of other open government groups wrote to Chairman Darrell Issa and Ranking Member Elijah Cummings of the House Oversight and Government Reform in support of The Transparency and Openness in Government Act, H.R. 1144. This law would enhance the effectiveness of federal advisory panels, provide more access to presidential records, ensure preservation of electronic messages generated by administration officials, ensure donations to presidential libraries are part of the public record, and give the Government Accountability Office more teeth.
