CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan Featured in Upcoming Jack Abramoff Documentary

Casino JackWashington, D.C. - Last night, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington’s (CREW) executive director Melanie Sloan spoke at an advance screening of Oscar-winning director Alex Gibney's new documentary CASINO JACK and the United States of Money: the story of Jack Abramoff – Washington’s most notorious (and currently imprisoned) former lobbyist. Ms. Sloan is featured throughout the film, which sheds light on how money played – and continues to play – a massive role in the political process.

CREW has a long history of exposing Mr. Abramoff’s network of corruption, including launching a website in April 2005 which revealed links between the disgraced lobbyist and members of Congress and suing in May 2006 for copies of records of visits he made to the White House.

The advance screening took place at George Washington University’s Lisner Auditorium.

CASINO JACK opens in theaters on Friday, May 7.
