CREW Statement on the news of Rep. Michael Grimm’s Indictment

Michael Grimm New York mugshotIn response to today’s news that Rep. Michael Grimm (R-NY) will be indicted:

CREW Executive Director Melanie Sloan stated, “Rep. Grimm has been on CREW’s most corrupt list ever since he first joined Congress in 2011. Year after year, Rep. Grimm has committed some other reprehensible misdeed. It is about time the criminal justice system caught up with him. How ironic that one of the few corrupt lawmakers the Department of Justice can bring itself to prosecute is also a former FBI agent."

"Rep. Grimm should resign immediately. Former Rep. Vito Fossella (R-NY) -- whose only problem is two families and a drunk driving conviction -- looks pretty good in comparison.”
