Mission

“The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan organization of men and women, encourages the informed and active participation of people in government, and also influences public policy through education and advocacy. Their goal is to empower everyone to shape better communities world-wide.”1

Resources and Capabilities

The League of Women Voters Nevada (LWVNV), with three local chapters,2 sponsors forums highlighting local government candidates3 and organizes community meetings to discuss urban growth issues.4 Recently, LWVNV has spoken out about the cost-effectiveness of a proposal that would create a database to help low-income families find housing.5

LWVNV is a registered 501(c)(4) organization. There are no IRS Form 990s on file at GuideStar. LWVNV’s website does not contain information about staffing.
