The FEC flagged payments from Hunter’s campaign in 2015 totaling $1,300 to a video game company and $1,650 to a private school.
Among other inappropriate charges, Hunter has two “Food & Beverages” campaign purchases at Temecula’s “Smoker Land 2” for a total of $227.
Hunter appears to have used his campaign to pay for his children’s private school expenses, including tuition, uniforms and meals.
Hunter’s campaign committee has acknowledged spending thousands of dollars not related to campaign activity, so CREW requested an investigation.
With a criminal conviction on his record for misusing campaign funds, there is no quarter for Duncan Hunter in Congress. He must resign immediately.
The indictment of Congressman Hunter is the latest evidence of a crisis of ethics that is gripping Washington.
Hunter tarnishes Congress every day he remains in office. If he truly wished to do the right thing, he would step down now.
