In a House Appropriations Subcommittee hearing, lawmakers pressed acting General Services Administration (GSA) Administrator Tim Horne on the agency’s March 23 decision that ruled President Trump was in compliance with the lease on the Trump International Hotel – Washington, D.C. Representatives Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) and Matt Cartwright (D-Pa.) asked Administrator Horne about the process leading to GSA’s decision. Horne declined to offer an opinion about the provisions of the lease, but supported GSA’s conclusion. He also stated that he was unaware of any previous GSA action requesting that the Trump Organization divest itself from the lease.
