Announcement Date: August 1, 2017

According to Forbes Magazine, President Trump’s former business partners in the Eastern European country of Georgia are planning to construct a “fake Trump Tower” in the city of Batumi, following a failure to secure a licensing agreement with the Trump Organization in December over the then-incoming president’s concerns over emoluments clause violations. The businessmen plan to call the project “T Tower,” and hope to bring Trump back into the lucrative licensing arrangement following his tenure in office. Trump is also purported to have asked Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, about the project when he visited the White House in May.
