Announcement Date: August 30, 2017

Bloomberg BNA reported that the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the General Services Administration’s (GSA) Office of Inspector General are reviewing the “outleasing” of the Old Post Office Building to the Trump Organization, which built the Trump International Hotel – Washington D.C. on the property. Section 37.19 of the GSA ground lease states that “[no] elected official of the Government of the United States…shall be admitted to any share or part of this Lease, or to any benefit that may arise therefrom,” yet in March, the GSA determined the Trump Organization was in “full compliance” with its lease.
