Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) seeks a passionate and creative Outreach and Partnerships Manager to join our team to help us build key relationships that help expand our organization’s reach and achieve our goals. Responsibilities:
The Outreach and Partnerships Manager will play a key role in broadening our relationships with organizations across the political spectrum and increasing the reach of CREW’s important work. This person will report to CREW’s Vice President for Democracy Initiatives and also work closely with our Chief Counsel and Policy Director.
- Research and identify new potential partnerships for CREW at the national and local level that will help extend our visibility into and understanding of key communities and their priorities.
- Work closely with the policy, legal, research, and executive team to build and maintain relationships with key organizations and seek out collaborative projects.
- Help manage requests from partner organizations and work with the appropriate departments to respond accordingly.
- Assist in developing collateral materials and briefing documents for meetings with organizations and coalitions.
- Develop and implement a process for tracking, analyzing, and reporting on outreach and partnership activities
- Identify, coordinate, and at times attend conferences, receptions, and rallies where CREW can reach new audiences.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience working in a political, Capitol Hill, or nonprofit environment focused on building relationships with both national and state-based organizations
- Existing relationships with issue-advocacy and democracy / open government related organizations
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners and key stakeholders to implement and complete projects
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Experience or interest in core democracy issues, including efforts to undermine fair elections and accountability for the January 6 insurrection
- The position is based in Washington, D.C. but will be hybrid with employees splitting their time between working at home and working in the office
Compensation
The salary range for this position is $58,000-$65,000 based on experience and qualifications. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) is looking to host a post-graduate fellow to join our policy team, funded (in whole or in-part) by their law school or a third party organization. The policy fellowship position offers recent law school graduates an opportunity to work with CREW on developing our long-term policy agenda to change laws, rules, and enforcement to uphold the rule of law, protect our democratic institutions, and ensure accountability for abuses of power. Responsibilities include monitoring legislative developments, analyzing and providing technical advice on legislative proposals, drafting congressional letters and statements for the records, and assisting in the preparation of reports and other written products. If a fellow is interested in or is required to develop a specific project proposal as part of their funding, we welcome having those discussions. Responsibilities include legal research, analyzing emerging issues, handling FOIA and FEC litigation, drafting administrative complaints, and assisting in the preparation of reports and other written products. CREW is seeking a policy intern to join the Policy Team for Spring 2024 to support CREW’s democracy and rule of law work. The intern will conduct federal and state policy and related research, assist in the writing of CREW reports, and develop policy reform projects to achieve an inclusive, ethical, and accountable government. The ideal candidate will show interest or experience in democracy and rule of law issues, including those related to the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. The individual must demonstrate excellent research, analytical thinking, oral and written communication, and organizational skills. The individual should also be hard-working, enthusiastic, resourceful, and detail oriented. This position is based in the DC metro area and will be a hybrid of remote and in-person (as needed). Therefore, the applicant must also be able to work independently and have self-motivation to complete tasks without supervision. This position is designed for a law student or MPP candidate. Interns will receive a stipend of $1000 a month.
