The parties to this action have dismissed this case with prejudice. Read the stipulation of dismissal below.

Earlier this year, CREW requested the unredacted Interior OIG report on the removal of racial justice protestors from Lafayette Square on June 1, 2020 by the Secret Service and United States Park Police. The American people deserve a full accounting of the role federal agencies played in clearing protestors from the space and the names of the officials involved, including those responsible for giving orders.

CREW has now filed a lawsuit against the Interior Office of Inspector General for failure to provide the unredacted records.

The Interior OIG has refused to cooperate with CREW’s FOIA requests, and the public version of the report does little to clear confusion, redacting material that does not appear to fit any FOIA exemption yet falls under the umbrella of public interest. As part of the suit, CREW is seeking the immediate processing and disclosure of the records.
