CREW and the DOI have agreed to dismiss this lawsuit with prejudice. Read the notice of settlement and stipulation of dismissal below.

On September 27, 2017, CREW filed a lawsuit against the Department of the Interior (DOI) under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) challenging the refusal of the DOI to disclose four categories of records relating to Secretary Ryan Zinke’s March 23, 2017 meeting with the American Petroleum Institute’s board of directors at the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.

On May 23, 2017 CREW filed a FOIA request with DOI for the aforementioned records, and this case seeks declaratory relief finding that DOI is in violation of the FOIA by refusing to provide CREW with these documents, as well as injunctive relief ordering the defendant DOI to process and release to CREW immediately the requested records.
