CREW sent three Freedom of Information Act requests seeking records related to the water crisis in Flint Michigan, as well as the application and approval of Nestle’s permit to increase its withdrawal of water in White Pine Springs.

The requested information will contribute to the public’s understanding of how corporations like Nestle and special interests interact with state government officials, especially when facing great public opposition to their operations. The records will also show how the state of Michigan came to its determination that the water crisis is “over”, and the process and findings for which making such a determination requires.
