CREW and Noah Bookbinder sent a complaint to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) seeking action to enforce the terms of the conciliation agreement between the FEC and the 60 Plus Association.

After the FEC found that there was reason to believe that 60 Plus had violated the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA), 60 Plus entered into a conciliation agreement with the FEC in which it agreed to pay fines totaling $50,000 within 90 days. While the deadline to pay has long passed, 60 Plus has paid only 10% of the fine. 60 Plus’s chairman has publicly stated that the group will not pay the remainder of the fine. 60 Plus is in clear, knowing, and willful violation of the FECA, and the FEC should act to enforce the conciliation agreement.
