CREW files another ethics complaint against EPA Head Andrew Wheeler
CREW filed a complaint against Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Andrew Wheeler for violations of the ethics pledge that bans Trump administration appointees from working on issues they previously lobbied on for two years.
Wheeler approved a rule reversing EPA actions to regulate emissions from coal-and oil-fired electric utilities, even though he had previously lobbied on the same issue for Murray Energy. According to his ethics pledge, Wheeler should have recused himself for two years following his appointment on April 20, 2018, but he signed off on the policy on December 27, 2018.
CREW previously filed an ethics complaint against Wheeler with the EPA’s Inspector General to investigate meetings Wheeler held with his former Murray Energy clients.
