CREW sends letter to Senators in support of Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act

CREW sent a letter to all United States Senators calling on them to take all possible measures to pass the Freedom to Vote: John R. Lewis Act, including changing the Senate rules if necessary. The Freedom to Vote Act would ensure every citizen’s ability to vote freely and safely, combat election sabotage, restrict the use of dark money in elections, and stop partisan gerrymandering.

Congress should require greater transparency using appropriations bills

Transparency is essential to holding the government accountable for their actions, and the power of the purse, which is key to creating stronger transparency throughout government, should not be ignored. Congress has the power to ensure that greater transparency is a requirement, not an option.
